The Beach 1999

Maya Bay is a spectacularly picturesque bay surrounded on three sides by 100-meter-high cliffs. There are various beaches within the bay, the majority of which are small and only accessible at low tide. The biggest one is approximately 200 meters long, with silky soft white sand, undersea colorful coral, and exotic species in crystal clear water; the entire bay is one enormous reef.

Since the 1999 filming of The Beach at Phi Phi, Maya Bay has been the island's most popular tourist destination. It had always been popular before to the film, but now even those who have never heard of Phi Phi have heard about Maya Bay.
