🚗Transportation Guide
Departing from Fuzhou, it takes about 1 hour to drive to Pingtan Island along the coastal road, with picturesque scenery along the way. If you choose public transportation, it also takes about 1 hour to get there by bus.
🏖️Day 1: Northern Scenery
Northern Glass Plank Road
• Transportation: About 15 minutes by car from the north entrance of Pingtan Island; take the bus to "Northern Ecological Corridor" station.
• Highlights: Standing on the plank road, with the blue sea beneath your feet and rotating windmills in the distance, the sea breeze caressing your face, you'll feel like you're in a fairy tale world. This is definitely a great place to take photos, every photo is Instagram-worthy.
🚏Tanshui Village
• Transportation: About 20 minutes by car from the Northern Glass Plank Road; take the bus to "Tanshui Village" station.
• Highlights: The village is full of Miyazaki-esque romance. There are swings under the big trees in the village, facing the sea, perfect for taking photos. Here, you can feel the tranquility and romance of the island.
⛱️Beigang Village
• Transportation: About 30 minutes by car from Tanshui Village; take the bus to "Beigang Village" station.
• Highlights: The village is built on a hillside, retaining the traditional local style. At night, Beigang Village is brightly lit, and the sea breeze carries a salty scent, creating a wonderful island atmosphere. Taking photos of the night view here, every shot is super beautiful.
🌊Day 2: Southern Charm
🐒Houyan Island
• Transportation: About 40 minutes by car from Beigang Village; take the bus to "Houyan Island" station.
• Highlights: This is the closest place to Taiwan, with a feeling of being at the end of the world. Enjoy your own island time.
🏕️Heping Village
• Transportation: About 30 minutes by car from Houyan Island; take the bus to "Heping Village" station.
• Highlights: The coastal road here is the most romantic road I've ever seen. It extends into the sea. Rent a scooter and ride along the road, feeling the sea breeze, super comfortable.
⛺️Xiangbi Bay (Elephant Trunk Bay)
• Transportation: About 20 minutes by car from Heping Village; take the bus to "Xiangbi Bay" station.
• Highlights: The shape of the bay resembles an elephant's trunk, and the water is crystal clear. This is an internet-famous spot in Pingtan Island, every photo taken here is super impressive.

• Best time to travel: Starting from late April, the weather in Pingtan Island gradually warms up, and the sea breeze is gentle, making it the best time to travel.
• Food recommendations: Pingtan's seafood is a must-try, fresh and delicious. There are also local snacks, such as oyster cakes, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, leaving a lasting impression.
• Accommodation options: You can choose to stay in a B&B near Beigang Village or Tanshui Village, which is convenient for sightseeing and allows you to experience the local customs.
