📍 Trip Overview
Three days and two nights in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.
When I think of Qingdao, I think of Tsingtao Beer and the leisurely coastal scenery with the sea breeze 🍺🌊.
On this trip, I enjoyed a variety of activities, from the Beer Museum to a stroll through Badaguan, sampling Shandong cuisine from Meidair, and visiting a PACE CAFE, a rare and charming spot in China!
🚩 Travel Route
Day 1
Check-in at the Orange Hotel → Tsingtao Beer Museum → Visit Taitung Night Market → Night view of May Fourth Square → (Return home early due to rain)
Day 2
Walking around Badaguan → University Road → PACE CAFE → 鸥迪足道 (massage shop) → Shopping on Zhongshan Road Commercial Street → 美达尔 (Shandong cuisine) → Beer at a pub near Taitung Night Market
Day 3
Quick breakfast at KFC → Shopping → Check-out
🏖️ Landmark Exploration
1) Beer Museum 🍺
When you think of Qingdao, you think of beer! The inclusion of a cold beer tasting really set the mood for the trip. Learning about the history and brewing process of Tsingtao beer was also fascinating.
2) Badaguan (Badaguan)
The highlight of this trip. Strolling around, admiring the scenery, and taking photos was much more enjoyable than visiting the famous tourist attractions. The diverse architectural styles and the ocean blend together to create the perfect photo opportunity. 📸
3) Daehakro
The European-style streets gave off an exotic vibe. It was a great place to continue on from Badaguan.
4) May Fourth Square
Since it's right next to the beach, it was a great place for a stroll, and the night view was particularly impressive. However, the weather was cloudy and rainy, so we couldn't stay long, which was a bit disappointing.
+ Qingdao, a city known for its beer, sells draft beer on every street corner. If you're visiting during the hot summer, be sure to enjoy a cold beer while you stroll around. 😆.
🚇 Transportation
The hotel's convenient location made it easy to cover major tourist attractions by foot or taxi. For longer trips, we took the subway, which was clean and easy to use.
📷 Photo Spots
1) Badaguan Alley + Coast 🌊
2) May Fourth Square Sculptures (Especially at night!)
3) Daehakro Architecture
4) Exhibitions inside the Beer Museum
🍜 Recommended Restaurants
1) PACE CAFE
I never expected to find such a stylish cafe in China! The atmosphere is great, and the coffee is top-notch ☕. It's the perfect place to take a quick break, so I highly recommend it.
2) Meidaer 烧烤海鲜家常菜 (Zhongshan Road Branch)
This was by far the best meal I had on this trip 🦐. I was able to savor the essence of Shandong seafood cuisine here. It's a popular spot for locals, so the food was delicious and generous.
3) Pub near Taitung Night Market
The perfect place for a quick beer after exploring the night market. The local atmosphere really lifted my mood!
🏠 Recommended Accommodations
[Highly Recommended] Orange Hotel (Qingdao Wusi Square Yan'an Sanlu)
I was completely satisfied with the location, cleanliness, and service. It's conveniently located in the center of the city, and the rooms were well-maintained, so I had no issues at all during my stay. 🛏️✨
💡 Notes
1. Qingdao has strong sea breezes, so a light jacket is essential even in summer. 🧥
2. Some restaurants may not accept credit cards, so prepare WeChat Pay or cash.
3. May Fourth Square and Taitung Night Market are crowded, so if you want to take photos, it's best to arrive early.
🌟 Overall Review
My three-day, two-night stay in Qingdao was a short but fulfilling experience.
The Badaguan Walk, the Shandong cuisine at Meidaer, and the unexpected discovery of PACE CAFE significantly enhanced my satisfaction. The accommodations were perfect, making me want to come back again.
