History in the alps

Fort Victor Emmanuel looks like it was built to impress and intimidate – and honestly, it still does. Perched above the Maurienne valley, its endless staircases and stone walls seem to stretch forever. You can wander through tunnels, climb up battlements, and imagine what life was like for soldiers posted there in the mountains. The views are unreal – snow peaks on one side, deep gorges on the other. It feels half history lesson, half adventure playground.
