Weihai Travel Guide: A City Where You Can Have a Whale of a Time
If you don't get a few shades darker in Weihai, you'll be embarrassed to post on social media! This coastal city easily wins over every visitor with its blue seas, clear skies, and delicious seafood.
Top 3 Must-See Attractions:
1. Liugong Island: A 15-minute boat ride away, the island's scenery is so beautiful it will explode your phone's memory! Remember to bring enough sunscreen; the sun here is more passionate than your ex.
2. Weihai Park: A 10 km-long coastline, perfect for strolling, cycling, and daydreaming. In the evening, the sunset here is so beautiful that it makes you want to write poetry (although you'll probably just post it on social media).
3. Chengshantou: The easternmost point of Shandong, the best place to watch the sunrise. It is recommended to leave at 4am. Although you'll be as sleepy as a zombie, the moment you see the sunrise, it'll be worth it!
Seafood Foodie Guide:
Spanish mackerel dumplings are as big as your fist, and one bite will make your eyebrows fall off from the deliciousness; Weihai stew is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, a local favorite; and there are all kinds of freshly caught seafood, with prices so affordable that you'll doubt your life. It is recommended to go to Heqing Pier to buy seafood, remember to bargain hard, but don't make the boss cry.
Useful Tips:
- Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Important things must be said three times. The ultraviolet rays in Weihai can cure all kinds of stubbornness.
- July to September is the peak tourist season, and hotel prices are skyrocketing. Booking in advance can save you enough money for a seafood feast.
- Weihai is not big, and taxis are not expensive, but taking the bus allows you to experience the local rhythm of life.
Finally, a reminder: Remember to buy some Weihai dried figs before you leave. They're sweeter than your first love, and they'll definitely be snatched up when you bring them home!
