[Osaka] Sakai City, Mukashin Sakai Main Building

#AbsolutelyFreeTravel

This Japanese confectionery shop is located on the first floor of the NTT building at the intersection just off the Hankai Tramway's Hanada Exit.
It's in front of Xavier Park.
Originating in Izumisano, Senshu, this long-established shop has been in business for over 130 years.
The main store is in Izumisano, while the Sakai store is the "Main Building."
The sales floor is spacious, with a small cafe space in the back.
They also offer self-service tea, so you can buy some here and enjoy it. ✨

Popular items here include the "Original Osaka Mitarashi Dango," bite-sized reverse mitarashi dango (rice dumplings) wrapped in a crispy dumpling dough with a sweet and spicy soy sauce sauce, and the "Burnt Butter Cake," which is neither a financier nor a madeleine, baked using Mukashin's special "Burnt Butter."
Apparently it's very popular in southern Osaka! ✨
I bought the burnt butter cake, and it had a wonderful crunch and buttery aroma. ✨
Please note that the mitarashi dango has a short shelf life.

It's easy to eat and doesn't get your hands dirty. ✨
