Once the capital of the Timurid Empire, the square is home to three massive madrasahs (Islamic schools), which appear as architectural masterpieces floating on a sea of blue tiles. Despite being a popular tourist destination, the atmosphere carries a certain weight, offering visitors a quiet sense of "touching history."
