The western wilderness of Jiang Fushan in Sanhe.

It is a one-hour drive from Beijing and feels like entering the Wild West. It is a great place for camping and taking photos on weekends. It only takes about 50 minutes to drive from Beijing, so it’s easy to get there!

This is an abandoned mine with large areas of grassland (now turned yellow), exposed mines, red leaves (now only a few are left), and flocks of sheep and horses. Around 4-5 pm, people would herd sheep and cattle.

There are all kinds of snack carts around, including grilled sausages, roasted sweet potatoes, coffee, grilled cold noodles, and all kinds of snacks, as well as kite stalls.

There is a large free parking lot and roadside parking is also available. It is a site suitable for camping and the terrain is wild enough.

The topography of the White Rock Cliffs does have a bit of the feel of the American West.
