Tanukikoji Shopping Street was one of our favourite stops in Sapporo—it’s the kind of place you can stroll through for hours and still find something new. Stretching across several blocks, the covered arcade made it super comfortable to walk even in chilly weather.
There’s a good mix of everything here: quirky souvenir shops, fashion boutiques, snacks, street food, and plenty of drugstores with good deals on Japanese skincare and wellness products. We picked up quite a few boxes of Royce and Shiroi Koibito here too. The atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming—just the right balance of energy and local charm.
We stopped by a few cafes and small eateries along the way. One memorable snack was the freshly made melon pan with Hokkaido milk ice cream inside—absolutely worth the calories. There’s also a Don Quijote at one end if you’re looking to do some serious late-night shopping.
Whether you’re hunting for souvenirs or just want to soak in the local vibe, Tanukikoji is a must-visit. It’s convenient, fun, and always full of surprises.
