A Winter Travelogue from Sapporo, the City of Snow

#August Travel Grant

The snow-covered streets that greeted me upon arrival in Sapporo felt like a scene from a fairy tale. Even in the chilly air, the white snow piled up even more, heightening the excitement of my trip.

Odori Park, my first stop, was completely covered in snow. The harmony of the trees and the snow throughout the park was truly peaceful. As evening fell, the twinkling lights came on, creating a romantic atmosphere. I could see why Sapporo's winters are so beloved.

The Sapporo ramen I sampled on Susukino Street was a perfect match for the cold weather. The warm, rich broth warmed my stomach, and the experience of eating in the local atmosphere was a special experience. Furthermore, at the Sapporo Beer Museum, I was able to experience another charm of my trip, enjoying a cold beer and fresh Hokkaido seafood.

Though my stay was short, my time in Sapporo was deeply and warmly enjoyable. The snow-covered streets, delicious food, and romantic atmosphere were all part of it. Sapporo remains a memorable winter destination I long to return to.
