Makomanai Park

Makomanai Park is a must-visit beautiful park when traveling to Sapporo in late October. The park is not far from Makomanai Subway Station, and you can take a bus from the station to get there. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the stunning autumn foliage right at the station.

Makomanai Park is a large public park located in the heart of Sapporo. It is famous for cherry blossom viewing in spring, and during autumn, the park is adorned with vibrant autumn leaves that are just as breathtaking as the cherry blossoms.

Historically, this park served as the main venue for the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. Today, it is a popular recreational spot for Sapporo residents and hosts various outdoor activities and festivals. Within the park, you'll find a gymnasium, an arena, sports fields, running tracks, and even a ski area.

🚗 How to get there: Take the Namboku Line subway to Makomanai Station, then walk for 25 minutes, or take the Jotetsu Bus Minami 95, 96, 97, 98, or Kan 96 and get off at Makomanai Kyōgijōmae (真駒内競技場前).
