Sapporo Station Sapporo Station, 札幌駅 (Sapporo Station) is a railway station in Kita Ward, Sapporo City, Hokkaido, Japan. It is a station that serves as the center of the Hokkaido Railway, and various train lines such as limited express trains connecting the Hokkaido area and Honshu, as well as local trains and rapid trains pass through it. Since its opening in 1880, it has served as a hub for tourism in Sapporo City. Recently, the JR Tower was built at the south entrance of the station, significantly transforming the station. JR Tower, which includes facilities such as a hotel, offices, a shopping mall, a complex movie theater, and a parking lot, is the largest commercial complex in Hokkaido and a symbol of Sapporo City. Around the station, there are many things to see, eat, shop, and stay that will teach you about the city's history, including the Sapporo Clock Tower and the former Hokkaido Government Office Building.
