Hello everyone.
Today, I'd like to share my experience visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace, which can be considered the heart of Seoul :)
📍 161, Sajik-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Gyeongbokgung Palace
⏰ 9:00~18:30
📌 Admission Fee: Adults 3,000 KRW (Ages 25~64)
By chance, I visited Gyeongbokgung Palace on a weekend and was able to see the 2024 Changing of the Royal Guard ceremony. The Royal Guard were the royal security guards during the Joseon Dynasty.
I had fallen in love with the impressive appearance of the Royal Guard on Instagram, and luckily, I got to see the event in person.
The 2024 Changing of the Royal Guard Ceremony is scheduled on weekends and public holidays from 15:00 to 16:00, so it might be a good idea to visit and watch the ceremony at least once.
2024 Changing of the Royal Guard Ceremony
⏰ March 23 (Sat) ~ December 29 (Sun) Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays 15:00~16:00
From Gwanghwamun Square in front of Gyeongbokgung Palace to the cultural street of Insa-dong (every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday)
Gyeongbokgung Palace is not only one of the most beautiful buildings in our country but also has many pretty and historically significant spaces in every corner, so it's a great place to spend a day exploring.
I highly recommend a trip to Gyeongbokgung Palace for anyone traveling to Seoul🩵
