Dongdaemun's Charming Hotel The Designers DDP Designers Suite Room 2002

While browsing hotel booking sites, I stumbled upon this suite room priced in the 70,000 KRW range. Its location, right in front of Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station, and the amazing price made me book it immediately.

However, it is a 2-star hotel, and their official website is under construction. I booked it as a non-refundable reservation, which made the price even cheaper.

When my schedule changed, I contacted the booking site. Although cancellations were not allowed, they kindly offered to change my reservation from Sunday to Monday.

Check-in time was from 6 PM on Sunday, but on Monday, it was available from 3 PM. After finishing my appointment in Cheongdam, I headed to check in.

The hotel is about a 2-minute walk from Exit 5 of Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station. Across the street, there is another hotel with a similar name, Designers Dongdaemun. The gold-colored building is the Dongdaemun branch, while the silver-colored one is the DDP branch.

At check-in, I was told I could choose any room except for Room 1701. They even showed me photos of the rooms. The concept here is that each room has a unique design. I asked the staff to recommend the room with the best view.

With confidence, they suggested Room 2002, the top floor with a stunning city view. The 20th floor only has three rooms in total.

Yes, the building itself is quite compact. The reception area even gives off a bit of a motel vibe. Upon entering the room, I was greeted with brown rice tea and Maxim coffee. 🤣

The room features a rug, a cozy armchair set, automatic curtains, a double bed, and a separate bathroom and toilet. There’s a massive round bathtub and a separate shower booth.

The bathroom has a view bath, double faucets, and no amenities provided except for disposable items handed out at check-in. When I opened the curtains, a panoramic city view unfolded before me.

To the right, you can see Namsan Seoul Tower up close, and to the left, there’s a view of Lotte World Tower. In between, you can spot The Ambassador Seoul, Shilla Hotel, and Banyan Tree.

The night view is beautiful, and the sunrise in the morning is equally breathtaking. I’m grateful to the staff who confidently recommended this room.

Being on the 20th floor, the only downside was the loud noise from the ventilation system in the morning. Other than that, this 2-star hotel offers incredible value for money. The view truly made it all worthwhile. Thank you.
