A must-see for traditional Seoul architecture! Bukchon Hanok Village 🇰🇷

📸 My Travel Experience

My first time at Bukchon Hanok Village, I deliberately chose to arrive around 10 AM. The light was soft at this time, and the alleyways weren't crowded with tourists, making for safe and clean street photography.

Walking uphill from Anguk Station, you'll be greeted by several classic streets lined with hanok. Looking back from a vantage point, you can see the stacked eaves of hanok, with Namsan Tower looming in the distance. Tradition and modernity intertwine in the same frame—this is Seoul's most captivating contradiction.

When taking photos, I particularly enjoy crouching down to allow the stone walls and blue tiles to extend into the frame, or using the lines of the wooden doors and window frames to accentuate the ancient charm of the figures. If you have time, I also recommend changing into hanbok before entering; the atmosphere changes completely.

🍵 Travel Discoveries

Besides the hanok houses themselves, the alleys of Bukchon hold many hidden surprises:
• Teahouses: Some hanok houses have been converted into teahouses. Step inside and enjoy a pot of Korean herbal tea, while the windows offer views of the slopes and stone walls.
• Craft shops: Hanji, ceramics, and small accessories are simple yet heartwarming, making them perfect souvenirs.
• Photo spots: The most popular are the "Eight Views of Bukchon"—especially Views 4 and 6—for stunning angles, but they can also be quite crowded.

📝 Practical Tips
1. Transportation: Take the subway to Anguk Station, Exit 2, and walk about 10 minutes.
2. Time of Day: The morning light is the most beautiful and the crowds are less; if you want to watch the sunset, don't miss it in the evening.
3. Be polite: Keep your voice down, as residents are often present here. 4. Clothing: If you plan to change into hanbok for photos, it's recommended to rent one in advance from a hanbok shop near Gyeongbokgung Palace or Anguk Station beforehand to save time searching for a store.
5. Physical Strength: Bukchon is a hilly area, so wear comfortable shoes.
