Jiuxianshan Scenic Area is a national forest park, a Chinese cultural ecotourism destination, a Chinese ecotourism experimental demonstration base, and a provincial geological park. The scenic area is located on the coast of the Yellow Sea in southeastern Shandong Province. It is famous in North China for its seven major characteristics: strange, dangerous, beautiful, weird, secluded, mysterious, and vast.
Jiuxian Mountain, covering a total area of 55 square kilometers, boasts ever-flowing water, evergreen pines and crimson maples. Its peaks, steep cliffs, and towering cliffs, evoke springs resembling dragon pools, while the pine trees evoke the melodious call of phoenixes, creating a truly remarkable landscape in Shandong Province. Wild azaleas are renowned for their diverse varieties, long blooming season, large area, and widespread distribution. Longtan Gorge boasts eighteen cascading waterfalls and thirty-six secluded pools, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The clear waters and wild azaleas are known as the "Twin Wonders of Jiangbei."
The unique geographical location and regional climate ensure that Wulian Mountain and Jiuxian Mountain enjoy mild winters and mild summers. The abundant rainfall and fertile soil have resulted in a forest coverage rate exceeding 90%. While serving in Mizhou, the Song Dynasty writer Su Shi praised the area, praising it as "as beautiful as Yandang" and "Jiuxian Mountain now surpasses Jingdong."

The entrance fee is around 30 RMB per person. Tickets can be purchased on-site at the entrance. There is no online ticketing available at this time.

Night visits and light shows are not common at Jiuxianshan Scenic Area, as it is primarily a nature and spiritual site. Special tours may be available during festivals, but it is generally a daytime attraction.

Nearby attractions include the Kaiyuan Temple, Qingyuan Mountain, and the ancient city of Quanzhou. These sites can easily be visited in a day trip, combining nature, culture, and history.
Small souvenir shops are located near the entrance of the scenic area, selling local handicrafts such as tea sets, traditional crafts, and Fujianese snacks. Buddhist-themed souvenirs are also popular.
Visitors can continue their trip by taking a taxi or bus back to Quanzhou city. Rental cars are also a good option for exploring more of the region. For longer trips, you can take a bus or train from Quanzhou to nearby cities like Xiamen.
