Old Columbia Country Club

Shanghai is very modern but look closer, you’ll see a vivid and deep history through the cracks. from a rich and vibrant expat community spanning centuries the old American country club “Columbia Club” was the meeting ground of Expatriates in the early 1900s.

It was closed for many years but reopened recently and restored to its former glory. the art decor architecture and stunning pool makes you think of times gone by. But in the complex new boutique restaurants and cafes bring life back to this once forgotten neighbourhood.

All in all. this is a great place to spend half a day exploring and doing brunch :):) make sure to bring a good camera, it’s still quite obscure so not too many people go there. Good news hipsters :)
