The Bund is the iconic landmark of Shanghai, and the area around it has dozens of historical buildings that once housed numerous banks and trading houses from the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Italy, Russia, Germany, Japan, etc. The area stretches for a mile and is made up of 52 buildings. For everyone is the historical part, which diverses architectural styles, from Neo-Classical to Baroque and Gothic. It’s this diversity that’s given The Bund its reputation as an open-air museum of international architecture.
The Bund is open day and night, but by far the best time to enjoy the experience is in the late afternoon and evening.
