Yuyuan Garden is a classical garden built during the Ming Dynasty. It is located in Huangpu District, Shanghai, China, in the northeast of the original Shanghai Old Town. It is adjacent to Fuyou Road to the north, Anren Street to the east, and the City God Temple and Yuyuan Mall to the southwest. Yuyuan Garden was built in 1559. It was originally the private garden of Pan Yunduan, the governor of Sichuan. His purpose of building this garden was to "please his relatives", and "please" and "yu" have the same meaning, so it was named Yuyuan[1]. After that, Yuyuan Garden passed through the hands of many people and suffered many wars. Today it is a typical representative of Jiangnan gardens and has become a tourist attraction in Shanghai.
