Another famous tourist spot in Shanghai is Yuyuan Old Street. This place is a hub for delicious food and a variety of Shanghai shops. It features beautiful Chinese architecture that looks even more stunning when lit up at night. There are many shops selling souvenirs, handmade goods, and various keepsakes. Foodies and shoppers alike should not miss this spot.
📍Location: Huangpu District, downtown Shanghai
🕰️Opening Hours: 9:30 AM - 10:00 PM, but it’s recommended to come in the evening to enjoy the beautiful lights
🚊 How to get there: Take Metro Line 10 to Yuyuan Garden Station and exit at Exit 1. Several bus lines also pass right in front of the entrance. Check bus routes on the map.
🏖️Environment/Facilities: This is a pedestrian street and market open from daytime until evening. It offers many famous Shanghai dishes. The location is very convenient, close to the subway. There is a wide variety of products including qipao dresses, handmade crafts, artwork, souvenirs, and keepsakes. It’s like a market that perfectly blends modernity with tradition. At night, the market lights up along with the colors of the buildings, making it a great place for photography. There are also performances such as traditional Chinese dance shows.
💞Reasons to recommend: This is another must-visit place in Shanghai with a wide range of foods like xiaolongbao, tanghulu, Chinese tea, crab roe noodles, mala, and many other Chinese dishes to try. For those who love photography, you can rent traditional Chinese outfits to take pictures with the beautiful old Chinese buildings. It’s less crowded during the day and busier at night, which adds to the atmosphere. Personally, I enjoy coming here in the evening to find delicious food.
