Shanghai Disney - Only here! To Zootopia!

Shanghai Disney
📍Shanghai, China

Summary of visiting Shanghai Disney with preschoolers!
Notes on places visited in one day📝

---

🟠 Preparation
① Save attractions and shows without height restrictions on the app. (You can log in with your phone number and add favorites♡)
② The last stop of Metro Line 11 is Disney Station. After getting off the subway, buy snacks and drinks at a convenience store.
③ Rent a stroller right outside the subway exit. A two-seater for the whole day costs 60 yuan, which is reasonable!
④ Once inside the park, immediately reserve Mickey’s Storybook on the app. This time, I prioritized Zootopia and reserved it for the afternoon.

🟠 Attractions and Shows
① Snow White
Go to Snow White’s Adventure inside the castle.
This place has short wait times and is recommended.
It feels like a mini art museum you walk through.
There is a witch, so it might be a little scary for timid kids.
Near the exit, the shop has lots of cute princess souvenirs!
If the timing is right, you can also take photos with the princesses.

② Zootopia
When it comes to Shanghai Disney, it’s all about Zootopia!
It’s the only area like this in the world.
It’s popular, so it’s best to go first thing in the morning.
I went on a Saturday, and it took 60 minutes to enter the Zootopia area and 120 minutes to ride the attraction.
The Zootopia area has detailed mini traffic lights and many photo-worthy spots.
The attraction has no height restrictions, so preschoolers can ride too.
It was very fast and fun, definitely worth the wait!
In the evening, wait times decrease as many people leave.

③ Frozen Show
A show featuring Anna and Elsa.
It’s performed multiple times a day, so it’s relatively easy to get in quickly.
It’s in Chinese, but many familiar Frozen songs play, making it enjoyable.

④ Rest at the Tron Area
We took a break at the food court in the Tron area.
Maybe because it’s near the entrance/exit, there were fewer people and plenty of seats, so it’s recommended.
You can get fairly tasty hamburgers there🍔

⑤ Mickey’s Storybook
We watched the Mickey’s Storybook show reserved in advance on the app.
Among many shows, this one is popular because many characters appear!
You can meet popular characters like Mickey, Moana, Elsa, and more.

⑥ Parade
By chance, there was a parade along the route, so we watched it briefly.
Mickey and Minnie were absent, but we saw other popular characters.

⑦ Journey to the Crystal Grotto
An attraction where you ride a boat and meet princesses.
This also has relatively short wait times and is recommended.
No height restrictions, not scary, and you get to meet princesses.
You enter the castle’s underground during the ride, and apparently, Shanghai Disney is the only place where you can go underground in the castle (as seen on TV).

⑧ Castle Lighting
The castle was lit up around 7 PM.
Many people were already saving spots around the castle for the 8 PM fireworks.

⑨ Winnie the Pooh’s Hunny Hunt
At night, Winnie the Pooh’s Hunny Hunt had almost no line!
No height restrictions, you can immerse yourself in Pooh’s cute world, and kids love it. Highly recommended.

⑩ Castle Fireworks
We saw the castle fireworks at 8 PM.
They were visible from afar, but there was projection mapping on the lower part of the castle, so next time I want to save a spot nearby to watch.
The fireworks were quite grand and beautiful.
After the fireworks, many people left, so the exit got crowded.
The subway was the first train, so it wasn’t as crowded as expected, and we could sit on the way home.

🟠 Finally
We enjoyed the park fully from 10 AM to 8 PM.
The charm of Disney is that you can have plenty of fun with just attractions and shows without height restrictions.

I went in June, which I think is a pretty good season.
July, August, and September are too hot and tough.
June is also the rainy season, so April, May, October, and November are recommended for Shanghai’s climate.

I want to go to Disney again soon!
Next time, I want to try lunch in the free area, the small town.
