Just got back from the upgraded Sun Island Water Park, and it’s amazing!

Took the kids to Sun Island Water Park over the weekend, and I have to say, the upgraded park is really fun. Just got back and already want to go again!

✅ Name: Sun Island Tourist Resort - Beach Swimming Area
📍 Address: Inside Sun Island Resort Hotel, 2588 Shentai Road, Zhujiajiao Town, Qingpu District - Beach Swimming Area
🚉 Transportation Tips: Drive and navigate directly to Shanghai Sun Island Resort Hotel - Beach Swimming Area. The beach swimming area is inside the resort hotel. Parking is 6 RMB/hour, capped at 30 RMB. Parking spaces are limited, so it’s best to arrive early.
🕙 Opening Hours:
May 31 - June 30, September 8 - September 14: Monday to Thursday 10:00-16:30, Friday to Sunday 10:00-18:30
July 1 - September 7: Monday to Sunday 10:00-20:00

❤ Must-try Attractions:
✔️ Cold Spring Area: Rather than a cold spring, it’s more like a warm spring. In the afternoon, the spring water warms up. There are two infinity pools that are great for photos; also a Japanese-style sacred tree pool, a traditional pool, and many bubble-filled parent-child pools. This area is shaded, perfect for playing when the midday sun is strong;
✔️ White Sand Beach and Wave Pool: The entrance to the beach swimming area is at the white sand beach and wave pool zone. There are some lounge chairs for resting and storing luggage. In front of the white sand beach is the wave pool, which generates waves every half hour 🌊;
✔️ Rainbow Surf Slide: For kids taller than 1.4 meters. It’s quite high, so kids need to be careful when playing;
✔️ Sunshine Water Bay: Has slide sets, more suitable for younger children;
✔️ Outdoor Panoramic Infinity Pool: The water is a bit deep and has a slide, better suited for older kids;
✔️ Fantasy Rainforest Rafting: Super fun! A 170-meter-long rainforest rafting stream plus a 53-meter central rafting pool. You can float on rafts or water tubes. We went three times;
✔️ Mysterious Amazon Cave and Vertical Skylight Waterfall: A 710㎡ Amazon cave simulating tropical rainforest water curtains, plus 5 large cave waterfalls. Standing under the waterfalls, the cool mist hits your face—it’s really refreshing;
✔️ There’s also a sea lion show we missed. Indoors, there’s a pool with deeper water, more suitable for older kids.

📝 Tips for Bringing Kids:
✔️ Bring swimsuits, water tubes, sand toys, water guns, slippers, sunscreen, waterproof phone cases, and a set of clean clothes. Make sure to apply sunscreen well as it’s easy to get sunburned when it’s sunny;
✔️ The water park has only one small snack shop, so it’s recommended to bring your own food. If you don’t bring food, you can order delivery directly to the water park;
✔️ It’s best to arrive early in the morning when it’s less crowded. You can play in the cold spring area at noon, which has shaded spots;
✔️ Large water tubes can be rented on-site, and they offer free inflation;
✔️ There are lockers available with a deposit. The park provides free showers, changing rooms, toiletries, and hairdryers.
