Shanghai has a knack for surprises: hidden behind glass skyscrapers and bustling avenues are places where creativity and inspiration reign. The M50 Art Cluster, a former textile factory at 50 Moganshan Road, has now been transformed into a hub of contemporary culture.
It boasts dozens of galleries, studios, bookstores, jewelry stores, bars, and atmospheric cafes. We lost track of time wandering from one workshop to another. The atmosphere is a blend of industrial heritage and vibrant creative energy, a place where local artists, students, and travelers meet. Tip: plan at least a couple of hours and wear comfortable shoes—there's a lot of walking involved.
M50 is the place to visit in Shanghai if you want to be inspired, find unusual souvenirs, and experience the city's rhythm beyond the tourist trails.
