Let's go on a spontaneous summer escape! Shennongjia is simply Hubei's natural air-conditioned room 🌲🌿. The average temperature in August is only around 20℃. As you travel through the primeval forest, you might even encounter various amazing animals. Please keep this 3-day, 2-night guide handy~
DAY 1:
📍Tianshengqiao (Natural Bridge) (8:30-17:30) Recommended playtime: 3h
China's version of "Niagara Falls," the magnificent curtain of water is incredibly stunning! Remember to wear non-slip shoes, as the area around the waterfall is very misty and the ground is slippery.
📍Shennong Altar (8:30-17:30) 1.5h
The largest Shennong statue in the country is here. Climbing to the top requires ascending 243 steps. Both sides are planted with precious medicinal herbs, and the air is filled with the scent of herbs~
DAY 2:
📍Guanmenshan (8:00-17:30) A must-visit for a full day
Take the scenic shuttle directly to the Panda Hall to see the Olympic pandas 🐼. It's recommended to arrive before 9 AM to catch the zookeeper feeding them. The underground dark river in the Giant Salamander Hall is super cool, like a natural refrigerator!
📍Shennongding (Open all day) Recommended to go in the evening
The "Roof of Central China" at an altitude of 3106 meters. Remember to bring a jacket! The sea of clouds at sunset is incredibly beautiful, and if you're lucky, you might even encounter a group of golden snub-nosed monkeys.
DAY 3:
📍Dajiuhu (6:00-19:00) Recommended to spend 1 day
The marsh wetlands in the morning mist are like a fairyland. Lake No. 2 offers stunning sunrise views 🌅. At the Deer Park, you can feed sika deer up close. Remember to buy 10 yuan deer biscuits~
🍜Foodie Tips:
Tujia hanging pot is a must-try! Recommend the cured pork hock pot at "Shennong Villa".
The high-mountain small potatoes are crispy outside and soft inside, 5 yuan/serving at the scenic area entrance.
Bring your own snacks! Restaurants in the scenic area are few and expensive.
⚠️Precautions:
1⃣July-August is the rainy season. Carry a raincoat with you and don't use an umbrella (to prevent lightning strikes).
2⃣Maintain a 5-meter distance from wild animals. Golden snub-nosed monkeys will snatch your snacks!
3⃣All attractions require transferring to a scenic shuttle. 60 yuan/person for 3 days of rides.
🚌Transportation Guide:
Yichang → Muyu Town by bus, 4h/80 yuan
There are shuttle buses between attractions within the scenic area.
