Shennongjia in Hubei + Three Gorges Colorful Forest Autumn Self-Driving Tour Guide

🍁

From late October to early November, Shennongjia is in full autumn colors, with colorful forests covering the mountains. Although some leaves fall in early November, the scenery remains stunning! Starting from Yichang Airport, it’s a 2.5-hour drive to Shennongjia, 3 hours to Wuxiakou, making for a full 4-day itinerary.

The Shennongjia 6-scenic-spot combined ticket costs 299 RMB, dropping to 219 RMB in November, offering great value. Recommended reverse route: Dajiuhu morning mist → Shennongding sea of clouds → Guanmenshan science popularization → Shennongtan blessing → Tianshengqiao waterfall. Prince Ya primeval forest, Banbi rock forest, and Shennong Valley hiking trails are scenic everywhere, with friendly paths perfect for capturing amazing photos.

For accommodation, choose Pingqian Ancient Town or Muyu Town; the former is close to Dajiuhu, the latter near Tianshengqiao. Pingqian’s “Between the Forest Homestay” offers great value, and Muyu’s “Town Home Kitchen” beef bamboo shoots dish is excellent.

Don’t miss Badong Wuxiakou, with river views from the bridge, a wild observation deck, and Wuxia Cloud Peak. The free viewing platform “Wangchengpo” offers exceptional views.

💡Tips: Large temperature difference between day and night, bring a jacket; self-driving is convenient, and the free roadside colorful forests along the way are beautiful; although some leaves fall in November, fewer crowds and fairy-like scenery offer a unique charm!
