A friend found a recommendation for this BBQ restaurant online, and since the four of us didn’t have any specific cravings, we decided to reserve a spot through the platform to reduce waiting time. It was already 2:30 PM on a Sunday afternoon, but there were still ten groups waiting. Luckily, we had reserved in advance and only waited for a short while before getting a table.
Environment: The lighting is soft and slightly dim, and the seating is not too cramped, making it comfortable. The booth we sat in could easily accommodate six people, even though there were only four of us.
Charcoal Grill BBQ: In China, BBQ restaurants typically don’t require you to cook the food yourself. Of course, you can choose to grill it yourself if you prefer 😁. We opted to have the staff grill for us!
We ordered the 2-3 person set meal, which was quite cost-effective through group-buying. The portions were sufficient for the four of us ladies to enjoy. This set doesn’t include drinks, but you can purchase discount vouchers for beverages.
Appetizers (6 small dishes) ~ Unlimited refills 👍🏻
Edamame, mashed potato salad, fruit, kimchi, anchovies with peanuts, chilled green pepper fish strips
Main Dishes:
Mint-flavored Dai-style beef ~ This seems to be one of the restaurant’s signature dishes. The mint sauce has a unique sour and spicy flavor. Definitely a recommended dish 👍🏻.
Iberico pork belly ~ The first dish served. Before grilling, it looked quite fatty, but after grilling, it turned out crispy and aromatic. Absolutely delicious 😋.
Beef short ribs ~ Average quality, slightly overcooked 😅.
Grilled eel with sauce ~ A bit disappointing. The eel skin wasn’t crispy enough, and the sauce didn’t penetrate the meat. Fortunately, the eel was fresh.
Butter-grilled ginger pumpkin ~ This was my second time trying ginger pumpkin, a crop from Yunnan that looks like a green pumpkin. Its texture is somewhat similar to zucchini, slightly crunchy and sweet. The first time I tried it was in hot pot, and this time it was grilled. Both methods have their unique charm.
Shiso chicken cartilage ~ The chicken cartilage pieces were too small 😅, but they were fried to a crispy texture. However, the shiso flavor was barely noticeable. A good snack to pair with alcohol.
Matsutake beef claypot rice ~ When the staff opened the wooden lid of the pot, the steaming hot rice, beef, and matsutake mushrooms were quickly mixed together. The aroma of matsutake and beef immediately filled the air 😋.
