For an unforgettable staycation, one must get fresh perspectives of their city. I personally can think of no better way than perched 40 stories above Coco Park, sipping a heady rosè and taking in the sights at the Shangri-La FuTian.

First visited by my fiancé and I for his birthday, we thought we were in for the usual "Ah, a place to sleep a few kilometers away from our own apartment just to break routine." But from the moment we walked through the doors into the gilded lobby, everything was breathtaking and bespoken.

They'd sprinkled roses everywhere in our spacious suite, included a complimentary bottle of wine and hand delivered a beautiful cake and card to mark the milestone. These little touches were deeply appreciated ❤️

We planned on having dinner at the nearby remarkable restaurants we're always frequenting, but during afternoon tea at the hotel realized we'd be remiss to do so.

Pro-tip: spring for an executive room or suite. The lounge access is so worth it, and the open bar so much fun! Plus the other benefits, like a late checkout (especially useful after a night of clubbing in nearby Coco Park!) executive status really ups the ante! Our suite featured two bathrooms alone, far larger than our actual apartment!

I cannot speak highly enough of the impeccable services, facilities, location, and personalization of my Shangri-La stay. For business, romance, or getaway fun with friends, go for the lovely central location and nearby entertainment, stay for the noteworthy splendor.
