[Nagano Prefecture] Enjoy a patchwork of autumn leaves at Shiga Kogen

Shiga Kogen, which stretches south of Shibu Pass on the Nagano side

Part of Joshinetsu Kogen National Park, it's famous for its patchwork-like autumn foliage in autumn and some of Japan's best powder snow in winter.

The plateau stretches from 1,300m to 2,300m, with the highest point at 2,307m being Mt. Yokote and the Shibu Pass area.

You can enjoy the stunning autumn foliage of Shiga Kogen just by driving along National Route 292.
There's plenty of roadside space, so you can park and take a stroll.

We also recommend strolling around Kido Pond, Maruike Hasuike Pond, and Tashiro Marsh.
