"The No. 1 Grotto in the South of the Yangtze River", I traveled hundreds of kilometers to Shunchang County, Fujian, and finally found the "Gashang Rock Ten Thousand Buddhas Caves".
The moment I entered the cave, I can only describe it as shocking:
There are tens of thousands of Buddha statues of different shapes, the highest is 19 meters high and the smallest is only 2 centimeters. Each stone carving is lifelike.
1. About Gassho Rock
The Gassho Rock Ten Thousand Buddhas Grottoes were excavated in 2003 and are more than 600 meters long. They are still under construction. The tens of thousands of Buddha statues are all carved manually, many of them by stone carving masters hired from Quanzhou. Their craftsmanship is very exquisite. In the future, the number of Buddha statues will reach 100,000. The scale of the grotto is so large that it is known as the "No. 1 Grotto in Jiangnan"
It is recommended to visit for about 2 hours and take your time to take pictures. There are very few visitors and no admission fee is required.
