[Sri Lanka] Sigiriya Rock

Sigiriya Rock stands tall in the jungle of central Sri Lanka.

It is a mysterious ruin that has been buried in the jungle for about 1,400 years.

It is hard to imagine that there was a castle on this rock.

Our guide told us that there was a castle on top of the rock, and another castle below, and that the king never walked there.

I recommend that you wear comfortable shoes.

Photographing the smiling angel painted on the wall was prohibited. However, you can now see it because there is a scaffold, but I was curious about how it was painted at the time.
