
Xiyao Lake, located on Luohan Ridge, the main peak of Meiling Mountain, covers an area of over ten mu. Legend has it that Li Shizhen, a renowned Ming Dynasty physician, once led his disciples here to collect and wash herbs, hence the name "Xiyao Lake." Local legend also posits that Li Tieguai, one of the "Eight Immortals," washed his feet here, leading the locals to call it "Xijiaowu."
The Xiyao Lake area boasts evergreen greenery and a pleasant climate year-round. In summer, when temperatures in the scorching heat of Nanchang reach 40 degrees Celsius, the temperature here is only 30-32 degrees Celsius. Meiling has become one of the thirteenth largest summer resorts in China, and Xiyao Lake is a gem among these resorts, boasting seven guesthouses with over 1,000 beds.
The lake is close to the highest peak in the scenic area - Luohan Peak, which is 841.4 meters above sea level. From here you can watch the sunrise over the sea in the east and enjoy the charming scenery of the scenic area, which are both rare enjoyments.
