🍛 Peranakan Comfort at The White Tiffin @ AMK Hub

Dropped by The White Tiffin at AMK Hub for a quick lunch and left feeling like I had just eaten a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal. This place nails the Peranakan classics—familiar, flavourful, and consistent.

I went for the nasi lemak and laksa, while my family ordered the mee siam, beef rendang, and a few pieces of nyonya kuih like kuay dadah. Every dish was on point:
• The nasi lemak rice was perfectly fragrant, matched with crispy ikan bilis, a solid sambal, and a generous serving of chicken.
• The laksa stood out with a rich, lemak (coconutty) broth that had just the right hit of spice—comfort in a bowl.
• Beef rendang was tender and full of flavour, and the mee siam had a great tangy depth.
• And don’t miss the kuay dadah—fresh, chewy, and full of sweet grated coconut. A small but satisfying end to the meal.

Beyond the food, what made the visit special was the friendly auntie who was clearing the tables. She greeted us warmly and checked in on diners with such sincerity, it felt like dining at a favourite relative’s home.

The setting is casual and clean—great for a chill lunch or dinner stop. Prices are very reasonable for the portion size and quality.

📌 Verdict: If you’re craving comforting Nyonya fare in Ang Mo Kio, this is a solid, heartwarming pick.
⭐️ Will I return? Definitely—especially for the laksa and that warm service.
