Changi International Airport, Singapore

- Singapore's Paya Lebar International Airport was the third main airport after Seletar Airport (main airport from 1930 to 1937) and Kallang Airport (1937–1955). It opened in 1955, but with only one runway and a small passenger terminal, the airport faced congestion problems and could not handle the sharply increasing traffic during the 1970s (1970-1979). The number of passengers per year increased significantly from 300,000 in 1955 to 1.7 million in 1970 and 4 million in 1975.
- Currently, the passenger terminals consist of:
Terminal 1 (opened in 1981)
Terminal 2 (opened in 1990)
Terminal 3 (opened in 2008)
Terminal 4 (opened on October 31, 2017)
Terminal 5 (expected to open around 2020)
Jewel Changi Airport (expected to open around 2019)
