Introducing Xiajiashan Folk House

Located in Xijiashan, Jiang'an County, Yibin, the Xiajiashan Residence was first built in the 40th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty and expanded and completed in the Qing Dynasty. With a construction area of 10,056 square meters, the entire building features a rigorous layout, a clear distinction between primary and secondary, and an orderly opening and closing, creating a magnificent atmosphere.

The ancient residence has deep courtyards, high walls, flying eaves and black tiles, towering ancient trees and beautiful scenery. It is a well-preserved ancient residence in southern Sichuan that is rare in China. It is of great value to the study of Chinese folk architecture history, folk art history, folk customs history and southern Sichuan social history, and is known as the "living fossil of Chinese ancient residences."

Nearby, there are tens of thousands of egrets, a national second-class protected animal, living in groups, forming a rare "natural egret park" in my country.

Climate and best time to travel

Every spring and summer, tens of thousands of egrets gather on the branches, chasing and playing, or calling friends. From a distance, they look like white fluff floating on the green grass.

Egrets have lived and multiplied in Xiajia Mountain from spring to autumn and back for over 200 years, adding infinite vitality and interest to the ancient dwellings in the secluded area. Therefore, the residential areas in Xiajia Mountain are also known as the "Natural Egret Park".
