🥩 Wakanui Grill Dining Singapore — New Zealand Steak with Japanese Flair

Had dinner at Wakanui Grill Dining in Marina One and it really delivered—refined, calm, and all about quality meats. The restaurant gives off this quiet elegance with its soft lighting, sleek wooden interior, and open view of the kitchen, which makes it feel like a bit of an escape in the middle of the CBD.

We started with the spring lamb chops, which were beautifully seasoned and grilled over Japanese binchōtan charcoal. Juicy, tender, and slightly smoky—exactly what you’d hope for. Then we went for the Wakanui Selection Board, which came with bone-in ribeye, grass-fed fillet, and more lamb. The ribeye had this rich, sweet marbling, while the fillet was clean and lean. Every bite had that perfect char and depth of flavor.

The sides were also spot on. We had truffle fries and pan-fried mushrooms, plus this wasabi miso sauce that added a nice zing to the beef. For dessert, the Anna Pavlova stood out—light, airy, and not too sweet. The chocolate mousse cake was rich and smooth without being over the top.

Service was polished but warm. The team explained the cuts and even gave wine pairing suggestions (highly recommend the New Zealand Syrah). The pacing was perfect—never rushed, but no awkward waits either.

Only downside is portions are a bit small, so it’s more of a savor-every-bite kind of meal rather than a feast. But honestly, the quality made up for it. It’s not cheap, but for a special night or a serious steak fix, this place is a gem.
