🍽️ Chin Lee Restaurant – Old-School Teochew Flavours That Still Hold Up

Had dinner at Chin Lee Restaurant and it felt like revisiting a piece of old-school Teochew dining. The place was buzzing with families and regulars — always a good sign that the food’s got substance behind the reputation.

Service was fast, no-nonsense, and efficient — the kind that comes with years of experience. We didn’t need to ask twice for anything, and dishes came out in good rhythm.

The food itself was solid. Teochew classics done the traditional way — think steamed fish, orh nee (yam paste dessert), and their signature prawn rolls. Everything tasted familiar, flavourful, and comforting. It’s not fancy plating or modern twists here, but you can taste the depth and balance of each dish.

It’s definitely a place more about the food than the ambience — slightly dated interiors, packed tables, and lots of chatter. But that’s all part of the charm. If you’re craving classic Teochew fare done right, Chin Lee delivers.
