🇲🇾🇸🇬 Genting Dream: 4 Days 3 Nights from Melaka

🚢 Route: Melaka → Singapore → Penang → Melaka

⛴️ Boarding at ICQS Melaka

It was my very first cruise experience! I arrived early at the terminal — checked in and dropped off my luggage around noon. Boarding started at about 2:30 p.m., and we took a small transit boat to reach the cruise. The ship departed around 3:05 and I officially boarded the Genting Dream by 3:30 p.m. — just in time to enjoy afternoon tea on Deck 16!

🌊 Balcony Room Highlights
• We were four people sharing a cabin. The staff converted the sofa into a bed and pulled down the upper bunk for sleeping.
• Bottled water was replenished daily (except on disembarkation day).
• The room came with: an electric kettle, tea bags, instant coffee, toiletries, a mini-fridge, and a hairdryer (decent power).
• Don’t forget to redeem your welcome drink! 🍹

🍴 Dining Experience (Honest Review)

We tried three complimentary restaurants and one specialty restaurant during the trip 👇
Dream Dining Room (Lower Level)
• Set meals mainly in Chinese style.
• You can request refills, but the overall taste was just average — only one or two dishes stood out.
The Oasis
• A small Western-style buffet. Limited options but quite tasty!
• Quiet atmosphere and no queues — great for a relaxing meal.
The Lido (Deck 16)
• The restaurant I visited the most 😂 Wide variety of food and decent flavors.
• Dishes tend to repeat, so it can get a bit boring after two days, but still the best among the free ones.
Umi Uma (Specialty Restaurant)
• I used my dining credit here.
• You can choose Korean BBQ, teppanyaki, or shabu-shabu (one per visit, since they’re in separate areas).
• You can also order sushi or Japanese set meals 🍱
• I chose Korean BBQ + a Japanese set — delicious and the portions were huge! 👍

🌅 Overall Impression

I really enjoyed my first cruise vacation — relaxing, easygoing, and full of that true holiday vibe. I’d definitely love to go cruising again!
