Chenjiapeng Village was established in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties, with a history of over 600 years. It was named after the Chen family ancestors who built ash sheds here to raise ducks. The entire village is built along the mountainside, nestled against hills on three sides and facing a canyon, with an elevation drop of over 200 meters. Early residents utilized the natural terrain, constructing houses on stone-built platforms along the cliffs, forming a spectacular terraced traditional village.
Highlights:
—The entire village is perched on the edge of a cliff, with houses stacked upon each other, making it a representative example of cliff-dwelling ancient villages.
Compared to other villages, Chenjiapeng has more developed tourism facilities, including numerous guesthouses and restaurants, as well as a Pioneer Bookstore and a cultural creative shop.
Admission: Free
Address: Sidu Township, Songyang County, Lishui (about a dozen kilometers from Songyang County)
Tips:
-The village features a "Pioneer Bookstore" and a cultural creative shop, great places to buy souvenirs.
-Guesthouses: The "Fei Niao Ji" guesthouse in the village offers excellent views. Others like the "Yunxi mo+ Shared Vacation Space" near the parking lot and the newly opened "Shan Ye Yun Ye" at the mountaintop are also highly recommended.
-Restaurants: "Shan Guo Luo" and "Cliff Dwelling Yuan Mo Zhi Restaurant" are praised for their flavors and ambiance. There are also farmhouse eateries like "Lao Bao Farmhouse."
—There is an ancient trail called the Songxuan Ancient Trail leading to Xikeng Village downhill. If time permits, it's worth taking a walk through the forested mountains.
