Our visit, in the late afternoon just before sunset, revealed a bustling scene that grew even more vibrant in the evening. Notably, there's a queue for entry, and leaving the area means rejoining the line, which can be lengthy. Despite the crowds, we relished every moment exploring Shantang Street, where Suzhou's rich traditions come to life. It's a haven for experiencing local customs, savoring traditional cuisine, and finding unique gifts. Whether it's before sunset or after, Shantang Street offers an enchanting maze of small canals, narrow streets, and traditional buildings topped with classic roofs.
