Tucked away in Suzhou Industrial Park, the wild cherry blossoms at Dushu Lake Ecological Park are a well-kept secret among locals. Unlike cultivated Japanese sakura, these untamed mountain cherries (Prunus serrulata var. spontanea) grow freely along the lakeshore, blooming earlier (mid-March) with a wild, poetic charm.
