Suzhou's New City Gate ~ The Gate of the Orient

I sit beneath a colossal gate
A gate so tall it seems to reach the stars
Like a secret entrance crafted by heaven and earth for Suzhou
Leading to serenity, and also to dreams.

The Gate of the Orient, its silver-blue silhouette reflecting the daylight
Half embodies the gentle charm of the ancient city
Half stands firm with modern determination.

By day
It resembles a Suzhou lady in an elegant cheongsam
By night
It transforms into a dazzling dreamlike figure under the starlight
No words are needed
Its lines and lights
Speak the soul of the city.

And here I am, sitting at its feet
Holding a cup of matcha frappuccino
Tasting the bittersweet flavor
Much like savoring the gentle melodies of life.

Time flows slowly between the ice and cream
The afternoon breeze softly brushes my cheek
Like someone once whispered a tender word without leaving a trace
Yet it has already drifted far away...

But at this moment, I have no desire to rush anywhere
I just want to sit quietly with this blue sky, this gate,
And this matcha-colored mood
Experiencing the art of slow living.

Some journeys are not about reaching faraway places,
But about rediscovering the present.
