Chongyuan Temple is one of Suzhou’s largest and most impressive modern Buddhist temples, gracefully set on the shores of Yangcheng Lake. Originally built during the Liang Dynasty and rebuilt in 2007, the temple combines classical Chinese design with a grand scale — including a towering 33-meter Buddha statue inside the Great Hall.
