We wandered into Xietang Old Street on a warm summer evening, the canals glinting under lantern light and the air still holding the day’s heat 🌇🏘️🏮. The stone-paved streets were alive with people locals sipping tea in open courtyards, visitors pausing by the water’s edge where willows trailed into the slow-moving canal 🌿🍵🛶. The sound of soft chatter mixed with the distant pluck of a pipa from a nearby stage, music floating just above the hum of the night.
We strolled past wooden facades and quiet alleyways where small shops sold silk, snacks, and handmade crafts 🎐🍡🎨. Occasionally, a boat slid past, its lantern casting ripples of color across the water. Xietang in summer didn’t feel hurried it was a place where the evening stretched long, the scent of the river and warm stone reminding us to slow down and let the night settle in gently 🌌🚶♂️🕰️.
