Suzhou Slow Travel Guide

When visiting Suzhou, don’t rush through the tourist spots; following the locals to eat and explore is the real deal! This ancient Jiangnan city is perfect for slow travel. Spend three days visiting gardens, listening to Pingtan storytelling, and enjoying seasonal delicacies—it’s truly healing for the soul~

🌟3-Day Leisure Itinerary:
Day 1: Humble Administrator’s Garden (178 Dongbei Street) → Suzhou Museum (advance reservation required) → Pingjiang Road
Start the morning at the Humble Administrator’s Garden to experience the exquisite Suzhou gardens. Remember to rent an audio guide and take your time. For lunch, try authentic Suzhou cuisine at "Wumen Renjia" opposite the museum—Squirrel-shaped Mandarin Fish is a must! In the afternoon, stroll along Pingjiang Road and find a teahouse to listen to Pingtan storytelling; "Pipa Yu Pingtan Hall" is highly recommended.

Day 2: Tiger Hill (No. 8 inside Tiger Hill Gate) → Shantang Street
The Yunyan Pagoda on Tiger Hill is a Suzhou landmark, especially beautiful in spring and autumn. After touring, head to Shantang Street for dinner. The "Songhelou" restaurant’s crispy eel in oil is amazing! Nighttime strolls on Shantang Street are atmospheric, and the lanterns make for perfect photo opportunities.

Day 3: Lingering Garden (338 Liuyuan Road) → Jinji Lake
Lingering Garden is less crowded than the Humble Administrator’s Garden but equally exquisite. Focus on visiting Guanyun Peak and Mingse Building. In the afternoon, take a walk around Jinji Lake. We recommend watching the sunset at "Moonlight Dock" and trying the crab roe tofu at the lakeside restaurant "Deyuelou"—absolutely delicious.

🍜 Food Recommendations:
- Yaba Shengjian (Lindun Road branch): Must-try signature pan-fried buns with thin skin and crispy bottom
- Tongdexing Noodle House (Shiquan Street branch): Maple Town Braised Pork Noodles are seasonal specials
- Caizhizhai: Buy Su-style pastries as souvenirs

🏨 Accommodation Suggestions:
We recommend staying near Pingjiang Road or Guanqian Street. We stayed at "Yinju," right by the Pingjiang River, where opening the window in the morning reveals charming bridges and flowing water—such a vibe~ For a higher budget, consider star-rated hotels by Jinji Lake.
