Qilishantang – A living ancient canal street in Suzhou

If you visit Suzhou, it's like you haven't visited! 💫
Qilishantang Scenic Area (七里山塘街), also known as "Qilishantang Street" in China, is an ancient area spanning over 7 li (approximately 3 kilometers) that runs parallel to the city's main canal. 🌊

As soon as you step inside, you'll feel like you've been transported to another era—old wooden houses lining the canal, fragrant teahouses 🍵, shops selling exquisite Suzhou-style fans and embroidered cloth 🎐, and the faint sound of wooden boats mingling with the laughter of tourists 🚤.

More than just a tourist attraction, this place has been the cultural heart of Suzhou for over 1,200 years! 🕰️ It used to be a trading route connecting the city to the Grand Canal, and it still maintains its traditional atmosphere to this day.

Evening is the most beautiful time of year. 🌙 Bright red lanterns reflecting on the water, combined with the lights from the shops, create warm, romantic images that don't need a filter. 📸
