A must-see place for Daxinganling tourism - Tahe
Here are the most traditional Oroqen people
✅ Eighteen Stations
It was the eighteenth post station built from Moergen (Nenjiang) to the Yanzhigou gold mine in Mohe during the Guangxu period.
✅Oroqen Folk Museum
Visit the museum to learn about the history of this hunting nation. They use animal skins to make quivers, deer antlers to make knives, believe in shamanic drums, and use birch bark art to make hollow paintings, storage boxes, and baby cradles. Every Oroqen person has a pair of skillful hands that can turn birch bark into handicrafts.
Their old photos from wooden houses to modern buildings/villas bear witness to the Oroqen people's transformation over a thousand years.
✅Deep in the Greater Khingan Range, there lived a father and daughter, Guo Baolin and Guo Hongxia.
The father is the only inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage "Oroqen birch bark boat making technique" and is known as the "last hunter"; the daughter uses innovative thinking to transform traditional crafts into fingertip art, giving the ancient culture new life. The birch bark boat made by Mr. Guo Baolin does not have a single iron nail, and the hull is as light as a willow leaf. It was once a "water flying boat" in the hunting era, and now it has become a symbol of civilization treasured by the museum. He and his wife Ge Xiaohua opened a family museum, collecting more than 300 precious images that record the hunting history of the Oroqen people.
✈️: Take a plane or high-speed rail to Harbin, then take the Snowpiercer green train to Tahe County (about 12 hours), then charter a car for 1 hour (about 200 yuan).
🚗Benefit for self-driving people: you can drive from Mohe, drive along the G331 National Highway, and check in at "China's Most Beautiful Forest Highway" on the way.
