The Japanese-style buildings in Taichung are home to Taiwan's national-level manga museum, located near Taichung Railway Station and several attractions. Originally part of the Taichung Prison complex, the museum officially opened on the east side of the site at the end of January 2023. The collection has grown to over 15,000 pieces of manga-related materials from various periods, including more than 10,000 publications such as manga magazines and volumes, and about 4,000 manuscripts. It truly lives up to its status as a national museum. Highly recommended for manga enthusiasts, who can easily spend an entire day here.
