Address: No. 27, Section 3, Guohua Street, West Central District, Tainan City, Taiwan 700
Atmosphere/Facilities: Outdoor dining, fly-infested restaurant, no air-conditioning
Features: dry pasta, wonton fish ball soup, chili oil
Price per person: 100 yuan
Rating: When it comes to pasta in Tainan, most people would think of Fu Rong Snack Shop (A Rui Pasta) in the Guohua Street Market. After the demolition of the big vegetable market, it was temporarily moved to a tin store opposite the Imitation Japanese Shopping Mall on Guohua Street.
This restaurant has been established since 1923. Although the prices have been rising, the taste is still good. As for whether the taste has changed, it may be due to the change of seasons or times. In recent years, when I go back to Tainan, the oily aroma tastes less and less! Maybe the boss has made some adjustments to suit the lighter tastes of modern people!
Italian dry pasta is 50 yuan, and wonton fish ball soup is 50 yuan. You can refill the soup. Although the price has increased, it is reasonable for Tainan, which is crowded with people during the holidays and Guohua Street, a tourist hotspot. Personally, I don’t think it’s expensive. The taste is not bad.
The pasta at Fu Rong Snack Shop can’t be said to be the best, but when it comes to the representative delicacies of Tainan’s old days, it definitely has a place, especially at the Da Cai Shi.
