Taipei Zoo Route Guide

Taipei Zoo, located in Muzha, is a six-star attraction in Taipei City. It boasts a wide variety of animals and affordable ticket prices, attracting many foreign tourists. The ticket is all-inclusive, except for the Education Center, which requires an additional NT$20, and the shuttle bus, which costs NT$5 per ride. You can also purchase a combo ticket with the Maokong Gondola for NT$310, which is more economical.

Ticket Prices:
- General Admission: NT$100
- Discounted Ticket: NT$50 (for children aged 6-11, regardless of nationality, and students)
- Taipei Resident Ticket: NT$60 (ID required)
- Free Admission: Children under 5, seniors over 65, and individuals with disabilities

At the entrance, there are lockers available for NT$10/hour for small lockers and NT$20/hour for large ones. The prices are reasonable, and the lockers are spacious. The zoo is well-equipped with facilities such as family restrooms and stroller rental services, making it ideal for family outings. There are various dining options, including McDonald's, 7-11, Hi-Life, and food trucks offering simple meals, though prices are slightly higher.

It is recommended to visit the Koala House first, then take the shuttle bus to the Bird Garden Station and start exploring key animal exhibits from there. The zoo is vast and cannot be fully explored in one day. Each area is equipped with food stalls, restrooms, water fountains, and seating. Before leaving, you can stamp your hand at the exit for re-entry on the same day.

When I visit the zoo, I usually plan for a full day, as I like to take my time and explore every area. The latter part of the zoo involves walking up a steep slope, which is essentially like hiking. For those with mobility issues, it is recommended to use the shuttle bus.

On rainy days, you can visit indoor areas to stay dry. Indoor facilities include the Giant Panda House, Penguin House, Koala House, Amphibian and Reptile House, Insectarium, Tropical Rainforest Indoor Pavilion, and the Education Center (additional fee required).
