Twenty-day in-depth tour of Taipei | A complete guide to the area around Longshan Temple

#Taipei Itinerary

When I first came to Taipei, I thought I could say goodbye to the rainy weather in Paris, but I didn’t expect the sunshine here to be so scarce. However, during these ten days, I gradually became familiar with this city. Today, I will share with you the highlights around Longshan Temple that you cannot miss~

Ancient temple exploration: Longshan Temple

Longshan Temple is located in Wanhua District, southwest of Taipei City. It is an ancient temple with a profound historical and cultural heritage. As you step into the temple, the quaint buildings come into view, with flying eaves, brackets, carved beams and painted buildings, showing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship everywhere. The temple is filled with smoke rising from the air and believers praying devoutly, creating a strong religious atmosphere. Here, time seems to slow down and the heart becomes exceptionally peaceful.

Downtown Roaming: Ximending

A short walk from Longshan Temple brings you to the bustling Ximending. This is a trendy landmark in Taipei, with shops lining both sides of the street, selling all kinds of fashionable clothing, special snacks, and video games. But there were so many people that it was indeed a bit crowded. But it is precisely because of this that people can truly feel the vitality of the city of Taipei. Here, you can taste Taiwanese specialties while enjoying the wonderful performances of street performers.

Leisurely Search for Osmanthus Fragrance: Surprises in the Corners of the City

Walking in the streets and alleys of Taipei, you can sometimes suddenly smell the sweet fragrance of osmanthus. Follow the scent and you will find the blooming osmanthus tree. Standing under the tree, taking a few deep breaths, the feeling of happiness instantly explodes. In this modern city, this touch of natural fragrance is particularly rare.

Hidden Garden: A Japanese-style paradise on Yongkang Road

There are many small Japanese-style gardens hidden around Yongkang Road, each of which is like a small paradise. As you step in, the exquisite layout of the Japanese garden will catch your eye. Stone lanterns, dry landscapes and green bamboos form beautiful pictures. Here, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can enjoy a moment of peace and comfort.

Food Collection

1. Osmanthus Latte: The Osmanthus Latte from Pinglin on Zhongshan Road is so delicious that you will fall in love with it at first bite. I recommend it to everyone! The rich milk aroma, mellow coffee aroma and elegant osmanthus fragrance are perfectly blended, and every sip is unforgettable.

2. The snail noodles I’ve always wanted: The snail noodles from Luosifu meet all my expectations for this delicacy. The soup is rich, the rice noodles are smooth, and the ingredients are rich. It is super satisfying in one bite.

3. Food at Shida Night Market: After a quick taste of Shida Night Market, the most recommended dish is the lantern braised food, which is very fragrant! The Shiyuan Fried Chicken is pretty standard, with the normal fried chicken flavor.

City Impression

I will stay in Taipei for about 20 days. I plan to visit Maokong Zoo, Tamsui, Taipei National Palace Museum, Xinyi Shopping District 101... Any other must-see places? Please recommend
